SIARTER IAITH CYMRAEG – WELSH LANGUAGE CHARTER.

The Siarter Iaith is a Welsh Government strategy to target the use of Welsh in schools across Wales. The aim of Siarter Iaith Cymraeg Campus is to promote the use of Welsh in English-medium schools, establishing a Welsh ethos and encouraging pupils and staff to develop their Welsh language skills. The Charter provides a framework for schools to follow in order to achieve the awards. There are three levels of award; Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Currently, at Awel y Môr Primary, we are working together to achieve the Siarter Iaith Cymraeg Campus Bronze Award.

Criw Cymraeg

Our Criw Cymraeg are ambassadors for the Welsh language and culture in our school. They lead our  assembly every Monday afternoon, play fun Welsh games on the playground, and share Welsh stories with younger pupils. They help everyone celebrate what it means to be a school in Wales — promoting Cynefin, pride, and a love of our heritage every day!
