Welcome to Class 5J! – Croeso I Dosbarth 5J!
Here is information for Mr Jones’ class, including what we are learning about, P.E days, reading and more.
Reading – Darllen
This year we are not sending reading books home. However, children can access their reading books online through BugClub. The children will bring home their reading records, and if they read with an adult they can note this in their records. If they read at home 3 times over the week, the children can earn 5 Dojo points! The link to BugClub: https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0
When on BugClub, the children will need to access their Independent reading books, here there will either be the book they are reading in class, or books on their reading level.
Big Question – Cwestiwn Mawr:
This term our class Big Question is: Should we be supporting the World Cup in Qatar? We are going to learning all about the World Cup – why it is being held in Qatar; all about the country and how it compares to ours; why people are against the World Cup being held there. We will be exploring this through all subjects, linking our work together in the aim of creating a ‘Wow’ project at the end of term, where we hope to put on a showcase of all the countries competing in the World Cup along side the Year 5/6 and Year 6 classes.
P.E – Addysg Gorfforol
Our P.E day is on a Friday. This term we are looking at invasion games. Currently, we are developing our skills in tag rugby, and are lucky enough to have a coach from the Ospreys coming in to do some sessions with us.
Also, we are in the middle of our 2 week block of swimming lessons.
Snack – Byrbryd
We provide snack for our class, this costs £1.50 a week (30p a day). We have a range of different snacks, fresh fruit, toast, cereal bars, and pancakes/creps/pain au chocolat sometimes as a Friday treat!
